Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 30 year-old man in Clonmel yesterday.
The dead man was named locally as Fergus Roche and it is understood he had been living in the house next door to where the fire broke out.
A post mortem examination has been completed but the results are not being disclosed for operational reasons. However, gardaí investigating the incident said earlier that the dead man's injuries were not consistent with a fire.
The blaze at the home in Heywood Close, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, broke out in the early hours of Saturday.
The fire was confined to one area of the bungalow when emergency services arrived at the scene. Mr Roche, a father of one, was pulled from the front room by fire crews, but he was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire.
