Gardaí are questioning a man about the alleged activities of anti-drugs vigilantes in Co Kerry.
The man was detained near Tralee in connection with the abduction and beating-up of a man from his home in nearby Castleisland in December.
A representative of the self-styled Concerned Parents Against Drugs group contacted a newspaper and claimed responsibility for abducting the man, as well as the seizure of €15,000 worth of cannabis resin from him.
The drugs were later found close to the spot where the man was attacked by a group of four masked men.
The arrested man, who is in his forties, was being interviewed today by detectives in Killarney.
Mr Martin Ferris, a Sinn Féin candidate in the General Election, has denied any knowledge of the affair or links it may have with the party.
