Gardaí are continuing to question a 17-year-old boy in relation to the fatal stabbing of another teenager in Ennis, Co Clare last night.
Gardaí arrested the youth and brought him to Ennis Garda Station where he is being kept under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act. He can be held for up to 24 hours.
The 14-year-old victim was stabbed shortly before 11pm on O'Connell Street in the town last night. He died later in Ennis Hospital from his injuries.
The scene has been sealed off pending a technical examination and the State Pathologist is expected to carry out a post mortem later today.
