GARDAÍ HAVE released without charge three people who were being questioned in connection with the disappearance in Dublin of a Romanian teenager who may have been shot dead.

Marioara Rostas (19) has been missing since January 6th, when she was seen getting into a car on Lombard Street East.

Earlier yesterday, gardaí released the man and two women who were arrested on Friday morning in Dublin 8.

They had been detained at Kevin Street, Harcourt Terrace and Pearse Street Garda stations under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

A fourth person was arrested on Saturday in connection with the disappearance. He is still being questioned and can be held for 72 hours.

Ms Rostas had only been in Ireland for three weeks when she disappeared. She had followed her parents and other family members who arrived a few months earlier.

She was wearing blue jeans, a white top, pink scarf and a long black jacket when she was last seen.

The teenager was begging at the junction of Pearse Street when her younger brother saw her talking to a motorist and then getting into his silver car.

Detectives believe that she was killed, possibly shot, in a house in the south inner city and the killer disposed of her remains elsewhere.

The house in question was damaged by fire a short time after the suspected murder.

However, investigators were still able to remove some DNA samples from the house and they found evidence of a gun discharge.

The Garda Water Unit searched a section of the Grand Canal near Donore Avenue in recent days but nothing was found.
