Gardaí have ruled out foul play in the death of a man whose body was found in a house in Waterford.
The body of Greg Yearsley (47) was found by gardaí when they gained access to his house on Alexander Street in Waterford city centre at about 7.40pm on Saturday. They had been contacted by a relative in Dublin who became concerned when she could not contact Mr Yearsley.
There was no sign of a forced entry to the house, but gardaí were concerned after discovering Mr Yearsley’s body on the floor of his bedroom. The man’s body was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital.
A postmortem yesterday by the State Pathologist, Prof Marie Cassidy, confirmed there was nothing suspicious about his death.
Supt Chris Delaney appealed to anyone who may have seen Mr Yearsley in the days before his death to contact Waterford Garda station on 051-305300 as gardaí try to piece together his last-known movements.
