Gardai were still seeking the killer of a young Limerick woman shot in a nightclub at the weekend as the removal of her body took place last night. Hundreds gathered to sympathise with the family of Ms Georgina O'Donnell (20), who was shot in the face by a bullet understood to have been meant for another woman.
The removal took place to St Mary's Church in The Parish and the funeral will be held today after Requiem Mass at noon to Mount St Oliver Cemetery.
Gardai believe the 29-year-old suspect is still in the city and someone may be harbouring him. Supt Tony Kenneally, Henry Street Garda Station, said investigations were progressing satisfactorily and they had received good co-operation from the public.
Gardai have interviewed several witnesses and a 16-year-old youth arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act was later released.
Meanwhile, gardai wish to interview a man who is undergoing medical treatment about the death of Mr Thomas Murphy, Cross Roads, Thomondgate, Limerick.
The victim was involved in a row with another man near the Treaty Stone when he fell or was pushed into the Shannon.
