Gardaí in Dublin have appealed for witnesses after shots were fired at two houses in the north inner city early this morning.
A Garda statement said a number of shots were fired into a house on Canon Lillis Avenue, Seville Place, Dublin 1 at around 6am. The house and a car parked in the driveway were damaged.
"A short time later a number of shots were fired into a house on Kings Avenue, Ballybough, Dublin 3. The house and a jeep parked outside it were damaged in this incident," the statement added.
Gardaí at Store Street station believe the two incidents to be linked. Both scenes were preserved for technical examination.
No one was injured in either incident and no arrests have been made.
