A search by gardai from the Criminal Assets Bureau and detectives from Navan yesterday morning recovered a large quantity of alcohol, cigarettes and electrical goods estimated to be worth about £500,000.
Beside a house in Navan, Co Meath, gardai found a sealed trailer containing 40 barrels, each containing 40 gallons of alcohol.
Sixty bottles of champagne, 1,600 cigarettes, five cameras, TV sets and video recorders were also found.
A man was detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
