Gardaí have seized heroin and cocaine with a street value of €2 million in Co Wicklow.
The seizure was made during a planned search of an open area on the outskirts of Russelstown, Blessington by detectives from Baltinglass and personnel from the Garda National Drug Unit.
A man (24) was arrested in connection with the haul and is being held at Naas Garda Station.
Gardaí also seized a handgun and a large quantity of ammunition during the operation.
In Limerick yesterday, gardai from the city’s divisional drug unit seized cannibus resin and heroin with an estimated street value of €140,000.
Two men and a woman, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested as a result of a vehicle being stopped and houses searched, a Garda statement said.
All three were later released and a file is due to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
