Gardaí have withheld the results of a post mortem examination that was carried out on the body of the man which was found yesterday on the roadside near Dunboyne in County Meath.
State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy carried out the examination at Navan Hospital this afternoon.
As of now, the Garda investigation is not officially a murder inquiry and gardaí cited 'operational reasons' for withholding the results, although it is understood the circumstances of the man's death are being viewed as suspicious.
The man, who has not been identified, was understood to have had severe head injuries. His body was discovered on the Dunboyne to Confey road just before 5 p.m. yesterday.
He was aged between 33 and 34, was five foot, 10 inches in height, and was wearing navy tracksuit bottoms, a navy T-shirt and blue polo shirt.
