Staff at the Fruit of the Loom factory in Buncrana are taking care of a distraught native of the Garvaghy Road, Portadown, which fled to the Co Donegal seaside resort earlier this week.
Workers spotted the evacuee wandering along the factory corridors. After an initial standoff, they discovered their upset visitor came from the Garvaghy Road.
The evacuee is a pigeon whose owner lives on the Garvaghy Road.
It is registered with the Drumcree Homing Pigeon Society.
Mr Martin McLaughlin, a factory worker, said the pigeon strutted up and down the corridor in "what seemed to be a traditional route".
"There was a bit of a standoff when we tried to corner the bird. I contacted my brother who is a pigeon fancier and he traced the bird's owner and home club, Garvaghy Road and Drumcree.
"We couldn't believe it. For some reason the pigeon seems reluctant to return home this weekend," he said.
