UNIONS REPRESENTING staff at Bord Gáis Energy are seeking compensation to move offices from Dublin’s Amiens Street on the north side to near Mount Street on the south side.

A company spokesman said last night that about 300 staff were currently based at Foley Street or in two smaller centres nearby. The company wanted to consolidate its operations at new premises near Mount Street. It confirmed unions had sought compensation for extra costs and travel time involved in making the move.

It is understood the issue is likely to go to a third party for consideration.

Staff at Bord Gáis Networks are to receive a compensation package following talks at the Labour Relations Commission in relation to plans to move its operations from locations in Sandyford and CityWest to Finglas. The company declined to give details of the compensation.
