Former England midfielder Paul Gascoigne will play for Al Jazira in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this year, according to reports today.
The 36-year-old replaces Liberian international George Weah who has left the Abu Dhabi-based club after two seasons to settle with his family in the United States.
"I am thrilled," Gascoigne was quoted as saying in a club statement. "I have visited the UAE on many occasions and it is a wonderful country where people love their football. It is also a great place for kids to live."
"Gazza" will join Colombia forward Elson Becerra as the two foreigners replacing Weah and Liberian team-mate James Debbah in the season starting next month.
