Moscow - A group of disgruntled generals opposed to President Yeltsin's military reform said yesterday that his plans threatened the armed forces with collapse.
"We're looking at the full collapse of the armed forces and the liquidation of the country's defence capabilities," Gen Igor Rodionov, a former defence minister, told a news conference in Moscow. Mr Yletsin sacked Gen Rodionov last May.
He said in the face of any military threat, Russia's armed forces were already unable to mobilise, while a dearth of funds meant soldiers were ill-prepared to fight.
