The global economic slowdown and the summer holidays led to a rise in the German job queue in July, official figures showed today.
The number of people registered as unemployed in Germany stood at 3.799 million in July, equivalent to 9.2 per cent of the working population in seasonally unadjusted terms.
That is a rise from the previous month, when 3.694 million people were out of work in the euro zone's biggest economy in June.
The jobless total traditionally rises in July owing to the number of school leavers.
