German authorities have arrested a fourth man in connection with a suspected plan to attack Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi during a visit to Berlin earlier this week, the state prosecutor's office said today.
In a series of raids yesterday, police arrested three Iraqis as suspected members of the militant group Ansar al-Islam following indications the men were planning an attack on Mr Allawi during his visit to the German capital.
The fourth man was arrested in Berlin early today on suspicion of offering support to the attack plans and of supporting a terrorist organisation, a spokesman for the federal prosecutor's office said.
