Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore held talks at Stormont Castle yesterday on the possibility of seeking additional funding of more than €300 million from the European Union to further consolidate the Northern peace, writes Gerry Moriarty.

Mr Gilmore, in talks with Northern Secretary Owen Paterson, First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, agreed that they would examine the potential for a new Peace IV fund. The €333 million Peace III fund, which began five years ago, runs out next year.
