Details about what happened remained sketchy yesterday as gardaí worked with the assistance of an interpreter.

According to one Garda source, however, there is nothing to indicate the victim was randomly attacked as the chief suspect is known to her.

The girl was released from the Sexual Assaults Unit yesterday afternoon and is expected to receive counselling for her ordeal.
