A seven-year-old girl, who was fitted with shoes that were too big for her, has won £4,000 damages against the shoe shop. Mr Patrick Long, counsel for Niamh O'Gara, Terenure, Dublin, told the Circuit Civil Court yesterday that she fell and cut her lip the day after she had been fitted with the shoes and it had to be stitched under general anaesthetic.
Mr Long said Cripps Footware (Terenure) Ltd had offered a without-prejudice settlement of £4,000 and Circuit Court costs. The offer was approved.
