A new £2 million project to construct a 25-metre swimming pool and leisure centre on the east side of Galway city has been given the go-ahead.
The Minister of State, Mr Frank Fahey, announced yesterday that funds had been allocated by the Government to allow the Sea World project in Renmore to go ahead.
The developers have agreed to provide between 42 to 60 hours for public swimming sessions following the announcement of a £160,000 grant from the Government towards the project.
