Elin Nordegren Woods, wife of world number one golfer Tiger Woods, has settled a case against the publisher of the Dublinermagazine for printing fake nude photos of her before last year's Ryder Cup at the K-Club.
The lawsuit, filed by Nordegren-Woods in 2006, was settled in the High Court today. The magazine agreed to pay a "substantial sum'' to a charity.
In a statement read in court today by his solicitors, Trevor White, the publisher of the Dubliner, called the article "cheap, tasteless and deliberately offensive.''
The magazine printed bogus nude pictures of Nordegren Woods and linked her to porn websites. The article was published days before Ireland hosted the Ryder Cup, the biggest professional team event in golf.
