Cross-Border policy:The Green Party has proposed the harmonisation of corporation tax rates in Northern Ireland with the 12.5 per cent rate in the Republic.

During a meeting in Dublin between Green Party leader Trevor Sargent and the party's first member of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Brian Wilson, the party said such a move would encourage investment in the North and encourage firms to operate on an all-island basis.

Mr Sargent said such a move would encourage the creation of jobs, economic growth and innovation in Northern Ireland.

He said the party supported a series of cross-Border initiatives in transport, health, research and enterprise, including an all-island free-to-air digital TV network.
