Spanish international midfielder Pep Guardiola has signed a provisional agreement to join Parma next season, Gazzetta dello Sportreported today.

Guardiola, who recently announced he would leave Barcelona at the end of the season, has signed a deal under which he would join the Serie A club on a four-year contract worth $2.04 million a year, the paper said.

But there are two conditions:

The first is that Guardiola would only join Parma, fourth in Serie A, if they qualify for one of Italy's four Champions League berths.

The second is that he would be able to reject the deal if a more lucrative offer arrived from an English Premier League club.

Earlier, Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier confirmed his interest in the 30-year-old.
