On Monday, officers investigating the murder of Mr Geohegan found a large cache of ammunition and €50,000 worth of cannabis in Caldeonian Park in the city.
The discovery was made during one of four planned searches carried out in the Hyde Road area of Limerick as part of the ongoing inquiry into the murder of the rugby player.
A number of searches have been carried out across the city. Fifty detectives are involved in the inquiry into the death of Mr Geoghegan, whom gardaí believe was shot dead in a case of mistaken identity.
