THE PD leader says she will seek to ensure that Labour is out of power after the next election. In a renewed strongly worded attack on the party, Ms Mary Harney said Labour had been in power for 10 of the past 15 years and had failed to deliver on the radical change promised.
She described its record as: "One penny off income tax in five years, a softly softly approach to tackling our rising crime, more quangos in the education sector and an approach to ethics in public office which guarantees immunity from punishment - so long as you are a member of the Labour Party."
Ms Harney, speaking at a meeting of the party's general council in Newbridge at the weekend, said her party would provide a real alternative to Labour at the next election. The PDs would "go easy on the taxpayer and come down hard on the criminal".
