Dubliner Padraig Harrington will play Nick Faldo in the opening round of the World Match Play golf championship which gets under way at Wentworth on Thursday.
Should Harrington beat Faldo - a winner of this tournament in 1989 and 1992 - he would set up a quarter-final meeting with Darren Clarke.
Harrington enjoyed a comfortable first round win over Bob May last year but fell to Colin Montgomerie in the quarter-final.
Clarke followed a similar route, having beaten Faldo on the 40th hole in his first round encounter he lost out to Fiji’s Vijay Singh the next day.
Reigning champion Lee Westwood will play either Thomas Bjorn or the promising young Australian Adam Scott who have been drawn together in a potentially thrilling first round tie.
