Eircom Premier Division leaders Shelbourne avoided a potentially costly slip up this evening, when they came back from a two goal deficit against Drogheda at United Park tonight.

Gavin Whelan opened the scoring for the home team after 19 minutes, setting the tone for a dominant first half display by Drogheda.

Four minutes after the break service was resumed and the lead was doubled when Andy Myler hooked the ball in.

Undeterred however, Shels found their fluency and in the 65th minute were back to within one thanks to Glen Fitzpatrick's volley from a David Crawley corner.
