Welsh striker John Hartson scored and was sent off as Scottish Cup holders Celtic advanced to the semi-finals with a 2-0 win over premier league rivals Aberdeen tonight.
Hartson's sixth minute opener, his 19th goal of the season, came courtesy of a cross from the byline by Stilian Petrov.
The Bulgarian international then supplied the finish for Celtic's second on 53 minutes after being picked out by Lubomir Moravcik.
Celtic's comfortable passage was marred five minutes from time when Hartson was shown a straight red card after kicking out at Jamie McAllister when both players were grounded.
Aberdeen were denied a consolation goal when Robert Douglas saved an injury-time penalty from Robbie Winters.
Only one other semi-final spot has been decided with Rangers through after demolishing second division Forfar 6-0 on Sunday.
Two replays are needed after first division Ayr United held premier league Dundee United to a 2-2 draw on Saturday while the battle of the Thistles, Partick and Inverness Caledonian, also resulted in a 2-2 draw in their all first division clash.
