Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has

accused his Chelsea team of going nowhere and says the club have too many old players.

The Dutch international striker has scored 18 goals this season after joining from Atletico Madrid for stg£15 million but had little positive to say about his new club in an interview in this month's edition of Champions League magazine.

"Sometimes I think I am in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm not very lucky with the teams I choose to play for," he said.

"One year I play for a team that is relegated, like Atletico, and next year I play for a team that goes nowhere, like Chelsea.

"When we train my team mates are constantly saying those stupid things. They say 'Hey, Jimmy, do you know where we were last season without you? Now you are here and we are trying not to get relegated'.

"I'm 28 but I'm one of the youngest players in the squad and this is very bad. We have a good team but we are old.

"We must recruit young blood or look for it in Chelsea's youth system as soon as possible because the Premiership is one of the toughest leagues in the world."
