The former Taoiseach Mr Charles Haughey is to appear for arraignment at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in October in connection with his alleged obstruction of the McCracken tribunal. Mr Haughey was recently returned by Dublin District Court for trial on indictment at the circuit court on the matter.

The case appeared yesterday on the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court "mention" list. Judge Elizabeth Dunne agreed with counsel for both sides to schedule the case for arraignment on October 14th. Mr Haughey, who was in court, can opt for trial by jury or lodge a plea at the arraignment stage.
