Irish hauliers are still owed £6 million in compensation by the French government as a result of the blockade mounted by French truckers last year. The Fianna Fail MEP Mr Jim Fitzsimons called on the EU Commissioner for Transport, Mr Neil Kinnock, to "intervene in the ongoing saga".
He said the Irish Road Hauliers' Association had already submitted a group action compensation scheme worth £6 million to the French authorities on behalf of its members.
