The chief executive of the North Eastern Health Board, Mr Paul Robinson, issued the following statement last night in response to the Independent Review Panel report on the death of baby Bronagh Livingstone:
"I have just received a copy of the report which the independent review panel has submitted to the Minister of Health and Children.
"The report will require detailed analysis and reflection by me and the management of the North Eastern Health Board.
"I welcome the appointment of a senior management consultant and look forward to working with him to secure a solution which will provide safe and appropriate acute hospital services.
"I want to assure him of the full co-operation of the executive of the board.
"Until we have completed our analysis it would be inappropriate to comment further."
