The relationship between alcohol and depression is the theme of a free public lecture tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Swift Centre, St Patrick’s Hospital, James’s St, Dublin 8. The talk will be given by consultant psychiatrist Dr Conor Farren. This is the first in the monthly lecture series organised by Aware, the support group for people with depression. See also aware.ie

The annual Dalkey Good Health Fair will be held in the Dalkey Town Hall and Heritage Centre on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-5pm each day. There will be more than 30 stands with information about organic skin products and holistic therapies and classes. Admission is free.
A Dublin-based teacher, Jennifer Duffy, is seeking volunteers between the ages of seven and 12 to participate in a study on specific learning difficulties with mathematics and numeracy (dyscalculia).
