Human metabolism and how it impacts on obesity is this week’s free public lecture by biochemical researcher Dr Richie Porter, in the Biomedical Frontiers series from 6.30pm tonight in the School of Biochemistry Immunology, Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute, Pearse St, Dublin.

Clinical psychologist and author Dr Tony Bates, pictured above, will speak about loss and Prof Tom Inglis will read from the book he wrote after the death of his wife, Aileen, on Thursday in the Alexander Hotel, just off Merrion Square, Dublin.
