National Brain Awareness Week continues until Sunday. Events include an exhibition on memory on Friday in the Science Gallery, Trinity College Dublin, conferences and support meetings throughout the country. See nai.ie and thinkingahead.ie.

Caring for a family member or friend with an eating disorder is the theme of a workshop on March 12th and 13th in the Marine Hotel, Sutton, Dublin 13.

Researchers at University College Cork are currently seeking participants over 65 years of age in the Cork region.

The ELDERMET research project is keen to hear from anyone in this age group who is currently taking or has taken an antibiotic in the last two to three weeks.

The researchers are investigating the patterns of bacteria in the gut with the aim to further understand the connections between diet, lifestyle and bacteria in the digestive system.
