The Dyspraxia Association of Ireland is hosting a seminar on Wednesday, September 15th, at the Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley.

It will be addressed by Prof Amanda Kirby, founder of the Dyscovery Centre in Cardiff, and will address issues such as the practical and emotional development of children with dyspraxia, also known as Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD) which is a motor learning difficulty that can affect planning of movements and co-ordination.

To mark the beginning of National Organic Week, a picnic is being hosted in Portumna Forest Park from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday, September 12th, with a host of talks on fish-smoking, bee-keeping, farm diversity and cheese making.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness about organic food and farming.

For those with an interest in candida and who want to learn more about the organism and how an anti-fungal diet might overcome the risk, a discussion and lecture will take place at Nadrid House, Coachford, Co Cork, on Sunday, September 12th, between 2pm and 5pm. The afternoon discussions will cover energy medicine and detox methods.

St Patrick’s University Hospital is hosting a series of practical and research presentations as part of its commemorations of the hospital’s Founder’s Day on Friday, September 17th, including a debate on mental health services in Ireland.

The keynote lecture will be delivered by Prof Simon Wessely of the Institute of Psychiatry at Kings College, London. The topic of the lecture is Blitz to Bin Laden.
