Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?
Barring a few bad habits, I do have a healthy lifestyle. I eat very well, I do what I love, have good friends and a sense of humour. I don’t smoke and drink only very good wine.
How often do you exercise?
My job is very physical, so I tend to run from point A to point B and spend hours on my feet. For proper exercise, I walk the pier as often as I can, and I swim. My favourite form of exercise is dancing, which I used to do competitively, but sadly not any more.
Do you get your five a day?
I average seven to nine portions of fruit and veg a day. I have three pieces of fruit for breakfast. I have a love of crunchy fresh salads and would have some concoction every day that accounts for another three portions. I also love avocados and tomatoes which I would have daily. And I truly love celery, especially used to scoop up hummus. One of my favourite meals to have at home is a salad platter comprising cherry tomatoes, cold meat or cheese, asparagus, beetroot, olives and cucumber arranged attractively on a plate.
Do you worry?
I admit to being a swan, serene looking on the surface and paddling like mad underneath! I am a worrywart and will wake up in the early hours with my brain racing. I thrive under stress and being busy.
What do you do to relax?
I have a passion for reading and have two or three books on the go at once, my favourite being fantasy and science fiction. I also love going to the cinema and escaping in a movie. Spending time with friends and talking over food and good wine is also a great relaxer. I love the water, so swimming, taking a hot bath or walking next to the sea all soothe my soul.
What’s your unhealthiest habit?
I love going for tea and cake. High tea to me is the ultimate treat and there are so many old school hotels that do such a great job of it, how can I resist?
