Bryan Dobson, presenter, RTÉ One, Six One news
Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?
On a scale of one to 10, I’d say I’m around a seven.
I’m not overly conscious, but I try to watch my diet and I know there’s more I should be doing.
How often do you exercise?
I walk or cycle every day. I go to the gym on a more intermittent basis. It’s easy to find excuses not to go. It’s just so boring and why do they always have the TV on with the sound turned down?
I have joined classes in the past and found that much more successful, so I need to join one again.
Do you get your five a day?
I think I do. I try to stay away from the bad things. I eat a lot of salad. I’m pretty good at staying clear of confectionery as I don’t have a sweet tooth.
I try to avoid the chips in the canteen and there are lots of healthy alternatives there, so it’s fairly easy.
Do you worry?
No. I’m not a worrier. I sleep well. I tend to be laid back.
I also tend to believe there is a solution to every problem rather than allowing things to overwhelm me.
What do you do to relax?
I read. I love to walk, around the city or in the country. I find that tremendously relaxing, both physically and mentally. I also do a bit of sailing.
What’s your unhealthiest habit?
I think I probably drink too much. I’m not a binge drinker, but if I could cut down on the drink, I would.
I don’t think I have a problem, but when I tot up my intake versus the weekly unit total, I’m sure I drink more than that.
