Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?

Reasonably healthy. I don’t eat huge portions of food and prefer to eat it grilled rather than fried. Also, I’m not really a fan of sweet things, so I don’t often bother with dessert unless it’s fruit. I’m a moderate drinker (most of the time), I don’t smoke and enjoy being active.

How often do you exercise?

During the winter I play badminton at least twice a week, sometimes more if I’m playing in a match or tournament. I enjoy playing competitively because you have to be faster and more alert. I also prefer to walk rather than drive whenever possible. In the summer I enjoy swimming to keep fit, but only when I’m away and the sea is warm.

Do you get your five a day?

I doubt it, although I’m not entirely sure what constitutes a portion of the five anyway. Some days I might eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, while on others I have hardly any.

Do you worry?

Yes, but I try not to get obsessive, though it depends on what I’m worrying about. If I’m particularly worried I don’t sleep, which is stressful in itself. However, things rarely seem as bad the following morning.

What do you do to relax?

I read a lot and particularly enjoy sitting outdoors with a good book, enjoying the open air. I also like to do The Irish Timescrosswords. I'm a fan of playing golf on the Wii, on which I've beaten formidable opponents like Justin Rose and Ernie Els.

What’s your unhealthiest habit?

It is probably snacking in front of the TV. I have a weakness for chocolate, though I tell myself it’s supposed to be good for the heart . . .
