LEARNING SUPPORT: An estimated 9 per cent of the Irish population has a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, Asperger's Syndrome and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Learning difficulties can affect a person's use of language, ability to take in information and develop social skills. The BUA Centre in Blanchardstown, Dublin is the first service in Ireland to provide comprehensive assessment and support to people with specific learning difficulties. FELDENKRAIS WORKSHOP: The Feldenkrais Method is a way of relieving chronic physical tension and pain through learning sequences of movements which unlock bad habits. It has gained international renown for helping people recover movement lost due to injury or trauma. It is also valued by dancers, actors and musicians as a way of enhancing performance. DNA TALK: Playing God with DNA is the theme of an illustrated lecture by Dr Michael Telford in Glor Arts Centre, Friars Walk, Ennis, Co Clare on Sunday, January 29th at 7.30pm.
