Talk on how to cope with youth depression

Depression and Self-Harm in Young Peopleis the theme of a public talk tonight in the Lucena Clinic, 59 Orwell Road, Rathgar, Dublin, at 7pm. Dr Sophia Morgan, senior registrar in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Mater Child Guidance Clinic, will talk to parents and carers about how they can best help young people in distress. Haemochromatosis is a genetic condition in which too much iron is stored in the body. Undiagnosed, the condition can cause serious organ damage.

The Irish Haemochromatosis Association is holding information meetings about the condition this month. Venues include the Clarion Hotel, Sligo on Thursday, November 19th, at 8pm, University College Cork on Tuesday, November 24th, at 7.30pm. See www.haemochromatosis-ir.com.

Workshop to help improve posture

Alexander Technique teacher Richard Brennan will lead a two-hour workshop in the technique in the Stillorgan Park Hotel, Stillorgan, Co Dublin, on Thursday at 7.30pm. Cooking the nutritional way
