FILTERING OUT LEARNING DIFFICULTIES:Some children with learning difficulties have problems filtering out background noises which then distract them from the words in a conversation and affect their concentration and communication skills.

• PERSONALITY WORKSHOP:The role of personality in emotional and mental health is the theme of a two-day workshop on Saturday and Sunday in the Institute for Psychosocial Medicine, 2 Eden Park, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin.
