WORKING IN DISASTER ZONES:The Nobel prize-winning medical aid agency, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), will hold an information evening tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Carmichael Centre, North Brunswick Street, Dublin. SHIATSU WORKSHOP:The Irish School of Shiatsu is holding an introductory workshop on shiatsu on Saturday from 10am to 4pm in the Herbal Clinic, 5 Lower Mount Street, Dublin. Cost €80. Shiatsu, which is sometimes described as acupuncture without needles, is a hands-on body therapy which seeks to balance the energy pathways (meridians) which are linked to all organs and systems of the body. DISABILITY AND ROMANCE:A one-day workshop exploring friendships and romance in the lives of people with an intellectual disability will take place on Friday, November 29th, in the Stillorgan Park Hotel. This workshop is being facilitated by David Pitonyak, a well-known international speaker and facilitator. The cost is €100. The organisers are Rua, part of the Callan Institute, St John of God Hospitaller Services, which was founded to support individuals with intellectual disability in 2003.

TRAGIC WOMEN REMEMBERED:In Her Shoes is a thought-provoking touring exhibition featuring 135 pairs of shoes representing the number of women murdered in Ireland since 1996. The exhibition opened in Siamsa Tire, Tralee, Co Kerry, yesterday and will tour to Dingle and Waterville in the next few weeks.
