The death toll in China following Typhoon Bilis has risen to 228.
The death toll from the typhoon rose to 63 in China's southern province of Guangdong, while 30 people were killed in neighbouring Guangxi, Xinhua news agency said.
The death toll in the southern provinces of Hunan and Fujian stood at 135, after Bilis hit heavily populated southern China last Friday.
At least 156 people remain missing from the storm, which has displaced nearly three million people and destroyed 212,000 houses over the past week, Xinhua said.
Unusually strong monsoon rains have also pummelled Japan and the Korean peninsula as well in recent days, triggering floods and landslides that have killed around 145 people over the past 10 days or so.
Floods and landslides have killed at least 129 people in North and South Korea over the past week, according to officials and a leading international relief agency.
In Japan, some 200 millimetres of rain is expected by tomorrow.
Heavy rain there over the past several days has triggered floods and landslides, killing at least 15 people, Japanese media said.
