Magnus Hedman is hoping a good performance against Arsenal tomorrow can provide the perfect answer to Celtic's goalkeeping conundrum.

The Swede has found games hard to come by since his arrival from Coventry last season. Injury and the good form of Scotland regular Robert Douglas were the main factors, although Javier Sanchez Broto also featured in the first team.

The latter has since left the club and is on trial at Southampton and it was Douglas who ended the season with the question marks hanging over him.

The former Dundee man was at fault for the goal that handed Porto the UEFA Cup final and there was much debate as to who manager Martin O'Neill would pick in Kaunas for the Champions League second qualifying round with Douglas getting the nod.

Douglas kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 romp but Hedman was told he would be between the sticks tomorrow when Arsene Wenger's side come to Parkhead for a friendly.

He told the club's official website: "It is a chance for us to play against one of the best teams in the Premiership and it is always good to test yourself against the best names.

"The season has more or less started now and as far as I'm concerned it's up to the manager to go with whoever he thinks will do a job for him. I just need to do my talking on the pitch."

Celtic beat Premiership side Fulham last month but were also thrashed 4-0 by Manchester United in the United States.
