A helicopter helping to place a Christmas tree on a waterfront in Auckland's became tangled in cables and crashed today.
The pilot escaped serious injury and managed to descend from the stricken aircraft after it crashed to the ground.
Television New Zealand footage shows the helicopter becoming entangled and the tail snapping. The pilot, Greg Gribble, walked away from the crash.
