A coroner's jury yesterday stressed the importance of motorcyclists wearing proper helmets when it returned a verdict of accidental death on a Co Waterford man who died last November. The Acting Cork City Coroner, Dr Pat Dorgan, said the death of Mr Trevor Murphy (21) from Brownstown, Dunmore East, was very sad. "He gallantly gave his crash helmet to his pillion passenger but paid a high price with his life for that action." Mr Colm Hutchinson, the passenger on Mr Murphy's motorcycle, said he did not know how the accident happened. Garda Ronan Slevin said loose gravel may have caused Mr Murphy to lose control. Mr Murphy died from head injuries four days after he was admitted to hospital.
