A heroin addict who was caught with a drug-dealer's money was jailed for 12 months by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court yesterday.
Anthony Carter (32), of Rutland Grove, Dublin, pleaded guilty to handling £4,640 on October 24th, 1996, knowing or believing it to be the proceeds of another person's drug-trafficking or other criminal activities.
Sgt Dermot Neill said that Carter was arrested after attempting to change the money into sterling in a bank. He had admitted that he intended to go to England to buy heroin.
