Two men have been arrested after heroin valued at €1.5 million was seized in Dublin.
Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit stopped and searched a vehicle at about 2am at the Old North Road in Finglas and discovered the drugs.
Two men – one in his 50s and the other in his 60s – were arrested and are being held at Finglas Garda under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The seizure was part of an ongoing operation into organised crime.
A Garda spokesman said that pending analysis, the heroin could have a street value of approximately €1.5 million.
