High-street sales slowed in November compared to a strong October performance, according to figures released today.

High-street sales slowed in November compared to a strong October performance, according to figures released today.

When adjusted for seasonal fluctuations, the volume of retail sales fell by 1.6 per cent in November, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO). Sales remained some 5.9 per cent higher than a year ago.

The value of retail sales also decreased in November, dropping 1.5 per cent. However, in the year to November the value of retail sales rose 6.4 per cent.

Comparing the three-month August to October period to the preceding three months, figures show that electrical goods were the fastest growing sector, with a 12 per cent rise.
